Hello everyone! In this issue, we will share how to replace the cable guide hole bushing when it wears out beyond the allowable range? I hope our sharing from Taizhou Wanli Ship Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will be helpful to you.
Firstly, prepare by cutting off the power and cables around the cable hole, cleaning the work area, and building a safety protection platform; Prepare new lining, disassembly tools, sealant, and lubricating grease, and check for cracks and burrs on the surface of the new lining. If any, use sandpaper to smooth it out.
Next, remove the old liner. For the liner with interference fit, first heat the body with an oxyacetylene flame to expand it, and then use a jack or pry bar to push the old liner out from one side; If there are bolts fixed between the liner and the body, the fixing bolts need to be removed first, and then the edge of the liner should be gently tapped with a copper hammer to loosen it before being removed.
Another step is cleaning and inspection. Use a wire brush to remove rust and debris inside the body, wipe off surface oil stains with alcohol, and check for scratches and deformations inside the body. If the wear exceeds 0.5mm, repair it with a boring machine to ensure that the inner diameter size meets the requirements for installing the new lining; For bodies with sealing grooves, it is necessary to clean the old sealant inside the sealing groove and check whether the sealing groove is intact.
Then install the new liner and apply a thin layer of lubricating grease on the surface of the new liner. If it is an interference fit, the liner can be cooled in liquid nitrogen (low-temperature shrinkage) and quickly installed into the body, or the body can be reheated and then installed into the liner to ensure that the liner is tightly attached to the body without looseness; If it is fixed with bolts, the lining should be aligned with the bolt holes, and the bolts should be tightened evenly to avoid uneven stress on the bolts causing deformation of the lining.
There is also acceptance and testing. After installation, check whether the liner is centered and whether there is a gap between it and the body. Push the liner by hand to ensure there is no jamming.
In addition, conduct a load test by pulling the cable with a designed load of 80% once to check if the lining has shifted. After confirming that it is qualified, clean the work area and record the replacement time and relevant parameters.
